Captivating hordes of gold jewellery found in museums influence the forms and materials in Cameron & Breen’s curious jewellery collections. Recycled Yellow gold and silver is cast from wax that has been carved and manipulated by hand, proudly displaying the beautiful marks of traditional handmade design. Ancient stone carvings adorned with rhythmical pattern and curious figures inspire the unique hand engraved motifs.
Rock crystals set over engraved scenes are used as a ‘looking glass’ into the jewellery. When worn the view inside the rock crystal blinks in and out of view enhancing the curiosity of each piece. Colourful gemstones including earthy emeralds and fiery mandarin garnets influenced by the colour palette of local moorlands and flora are held in heavy beaten gold.
A combination of Laura’s self-taught wax carving skills and Martin’s professional stone setting talents, leads each piece of jewellery to pass through each of their hands several times before it is finished, creating an intriguing and beguiling collection of jewellery, which holds a unique amalgamation of contemporary ideas and traditional skills to adorn the body.

A hand carved miniature sculpture presents steps ascending to ten ancient columns. Topped with Aquamarine and set in 18ct yellow gold, these columns house a heavenly Yellow Beryl set in a patinated bronze exterior and 24ct gold leaf interior setting.
Look inside the temple ruins and discover a hidden yellow beryl window set into an ornate hand engraved ceiling.

This colour will slowly change over time depending on its environment and how the wearer treats it.
An oval peridot is hand set in the open mouth.
The silver band proudly displays the marks of the hand making process. Eight rock crystal cabochons are set around the ring, under each gemstones the silver has been patinated with heat displaying an array of warm colours and reactions.

We were thrilled to have been commissioned to create an ancient Viking hoard for the newly streaming tv show “Art Detectives” on acorn TV. In the episode a crime must be solved which centres around an uncovered viking hoard of gold.
We created a sculptural twisting snake torc, covered in classic C&B motifs. one eye has been set with a garnet cabochon, the other lost to time?
We also created a series of ancient coins inspired by viking coins from the british museum archives. each coin was totally unique with patterns on each side.
